Mike was one of the first co-opted trustees in 1994 and served three five-year terms as a trustee until he stepped down in 2009. He chaired the trustees meetings for a number of years and was regarded as one of the “founding fathers” of the new Huntingdon Freemen’s Charity (now Trust).

The picture shows Mike (front right) receiving a glass fruit bowl as a memento of his service to the Trust from Ted Bocking, who replaced him as Chairman. Others shown are: middle row left-to-right: (partly obscured) Karen Clark, Grants Officer; Dr Adelaide Turnill, Mike’s replacement as co-opted trustee; Michael Alexander, the Trust’s Surveyor and back row: Jonathan Hampstead, former trustee nominated by HTC; James Fell, trustee nominated by HDC; Brian Bradshaw, nominated by the Huntingdon Freemen.
