Mike was one of the first co-opted trustees in 1994 and served three five-year terms as a trustee until he stepped down in 2009.  He chaired the trustees meetings for a number of years and was regarded as one of the “founding fathers” of the new Huntingdon Freemen’s Charity (now Trust).

We awarded a grant of £125,000 to the Huntingdon Municipal Pension and Almshouse Charities towards their building and renovation project costing in excess of £500,000.

All eight Almshouses are being extended to provide an upstairs bathroom, a larger kitchen and downstairs toilet. They are also being renovated throughout to bring them up to modern living standards.
